Policy For Owner Relinquishment
Up-to-Date on shots
Clean bill of health
Spayed/neutered
Micro chipped
Foster until adopted
Las Vegas Cocker Rescue has had an extreme influx of owner relinquished dogs. We are here to help, but please remember that we are a non-profit organization and are operating on donations and volunteered time and services. We will lovingly search out the best possible home for your pet, but we need your help and cooperation. If your pet is not up-to-date on shots, spayed/neutered, or micro chipped, we will work with you to procure these services for you at a discounted rate. We cannot afford to take on this responsibility for you. We will also request that you foster the dog until we are able to find a suitable home. This is best for the dogs so that they may only need to transition one other time, and this prevents us from using our limited foster resources. Remember, we are here to help, but we are not in the business of aiding and abetting irresponsible pet owners. Please contact us for more information. We will consider all extenuating circumstances.
Policy For Adoptions
Adoption Application on file
Home Visit completed*
Meet and greet with cocker and family
Adoption Agreement and Adoption Fee collected at the time of adoption**
*We will consider out-of-state adoptions with references, but not out of country.
**In the spirit of ensuring our cockers have found their forever home, we will refund the adoption fee within the first 30 days of adoption if things are not working out, but please consider it typically takes 3 weeks for your cocker to transition into their new life.
We try an honor placement based on adopter's choice of cocker and the order in which applicants have applied and completed home visit if there is multiple interest in the same cocker; however, our ultimate mission is to always consider what is best for the cocker and the decision of placement will be made on this at the discretion of the LVCR member
